The purpose of these cards is to be used as a quick reference while in the field. The source for these is the little red artillery book called “1864 Field Artillery Tactics”, written by Captains French, Barry, & Hunt, and published by John Bracken. The way I had in mind when designing them was to cut out each card (3” x 5”) and put them in a small book. A blank phone book with tabs for each letter works great. You can then cover over the tab with a blank white sticker and write the name of the card category. I have also seen people laminate each card, punch a hole in the corner, and put it on a key ring. Prefferably keep the latter for reference in private. Elementary Instruction, Saber Exercise. #1-26. Marching commands. Not with the piece. Single and multiple detachments.
